Car and General Trading Limited has introduced a new larger Piaggio tuk tuk. The addition of this model brings to eight different Piaggio passanger and cargo models sold and serviced by the Company.
The new model is powered by a petrol engine and has a consumption of 34 kilometres per litre. The three valve technology engine gives lower maintenance costs. The engine warranty is for 20,000 kilometres.
Wallace Chege, the Car and General National Manager for Piaggio said, “The new tuk tuk comes with a larger body, bigger tyres, bigger lights, a radio and side speakers and there is more room for luggage.”
“The company has made an arrangement with Watu Credit, a micro finance institution to provide advice and assistance to boda boda riders and tuk tuk owners”.
“A deposit of 100,000 shillings secures a brand new Piaggio with the balance payable between 12 to 24 months”, concluded Wallace.
The Piaggio three wheelers have become a popular form of transport for many urban centres because their running cost are low. The van and pick-up models are used for delivery work, courier services and fast food operations.
Car and General, the regional sales agent for Piaggio has a workshop on Lusaka Road in the Industrial Area for service, repair and spares. There are branches and dealers throughout the country who also offer a full range of genuine spares.
