Nicholas Ngโangโa
Nichola Ngโangโa is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Car & General (Kenya) Plc. Nganga, an astute businessman, is a holder of a BA degree from Makerere University and served as Permanent Secretary in the Ministries of Finance, Foreign Affairs and Health. Mr. Nganga has been extensively involved in the tea industry and was Chairman of the Tea Board of Kenya. He is a past Chairman of the National Bank of Kenya. Currently, he holds Chairman position for Safaricom Plc and is a member of the Board of Kakuzi Limited. In his past career he occupied the position of Chairman of Tea Board of Kenya, Chairman of National Bank of Kenya Ltd., Secretary at Kenya Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Secretary for Kenya Ministry of Health and Secretary for Kenya Ministry of Finance.

Vijay Gidoomal
Vijay Gidoomal qualified as a lawyer from Clifford Chance in the UK in 1992. He returned to Kenya in 1993 and was responsible for establishing Car & General operations in Uganda and Tanzania as Executive Director. He became the Managing Director of Car & General in 1996 and oversaw a complete restructuring of the companyโs revenue base, gradually introducing new product lines that included the pioneering of the introduction of three wheelers and two wheelers as taxis in East Africa. Vijay has seen the company grow regionally with representation in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Seychelles, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Djibouti and Somalia. In 2017, C&G entered a joint venture agreement with Cummins Inc to represent Cummins products in Eastern Africa. He has also seen C&G expand its franchise representation that include Develon construction equipment (Formerly Doosan), Kubota tractors, Garmin GPS devices, Toyota forklifts, Cummins diesel generators, Briggs & Stratton power equipment, TVS and Suzuki motorcycles, Piaggio three wheelers, Mercury outboard engines, Ingersoll-Rand air compressors, Motorol lubricants and MRF tyres. The company has won a number of awards โ it has been named Cummins distributor of the year, TVS distributor of the year, Piaggio distributor of the year and also received Kenya Revenue Authorityโs distinguished taxpayer award in the motorcycle registration category. He is an active member of the Young Presidents Association, its past Chairman (Kenya Chapter) and regional board member.

Conrad Nyukuri
Conrad Nyukuri is the Secretary to the Board of car & General. He is a Partner at Adili Corporate Services Kenya. Conrad has vast experience in the procedures related to the formation and registration of companies and other legal entities in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania, compliance matters and is also well versed in corporate governance. Conrad has been the secretary to boards of several listed public companies, multinationals and private companies in various sectors.
He holds a BSc Business Administration degree and is a practicing member of the Institute of Certified Public Secretaries Kenya with over sixteen years post-qualification experience. Conrad is also an affiliate of the Institute of Certified Secretaries and Administrators.

Gladys Mboya
Gladys is an advocate of the High Court of Kenya with over twenty yearsโ experience in commercial and corporate law having advised both private and public companies in diverse industries including government and non-governmental organizations, financial institutions, private equity funds, microfinance organizations, manufacturing, health and aviation companies. Gladys is Managing Partner of Mboya Wangโondu & Waiyaki Advocates. She is a strategic thinker and an adept negotiator. With her proven leadership skills she leads a good legal practice. Gladys holds degrees in Law and Masters in Business Administration, from the University of Wales and University of Warwick respectively.

Carey Ngini
Carey has a wealth of experience across a variety of sectors ranging from property, finance and insurance to oil and gas. Carey has established a number of operations in these areas and is currently a Director of several companies including G4S Secure Data Solutions (Kenya) Limited (archiving), St Christopherโs Schools Ltd (education), Syndicate Holdings Ltd (property) and Bentworth Investments Ltd (oil and gas).His experience is very relevant to the current direction of Car & General. Carey graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business and Finance from the US International University in the UK.

N. R. Hira
N. R. Hira was appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director with effect from 19 June 2025.
Hira is Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales and the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya. He also holds a Bachelor of Science Joint Honours from the University of Salford, Manchester, UK. Nikhil is one of the leading tax experts in East Africa with over 35 yearsโ experience in tax advisory and tax dispute resolution in the region and beyond.
He currently serves as the Chairman of I&M Bank (Rwanda) Plc and GA Insurance Kenya. Additionally, he sits on the Board of I&M Bank Kenya Limited where he chairs the Board Audit Committee. He is a Partner in Kody Africa LLP and the Executive Regional Director of the Eastern Africa Association.
Hira brings to the Board a wealth of tax and financial experience that will be very valuable for the Car & General (Kenya) Plc.

Pratul Shah
Pratul Shah FCCA,CPA(Kenya), CPS(Kenya) has over 32 years of professional experience in general practice and specialist advisory areas in audit, tax planning, strategic planning, corporate finance and corporate recovery work with Pricewaterhouse Coopers, where he was a Partner. He currently assists companies in the banking, insurance, retail, manufacturing and services sectors develop their strategic plans and restructuring advice to compete and build shareholder wealth. He is an advisor to various Boards and has been a lead advisor in a number of merger and acquisition transactions. He has served on ICPAKโs Technical and Ethics Committee, Banking & Insurance Committees and has been a past member of the Insurance Tribunals Board appointed by the Minister of Finance

Sanjay Gidoomal
Sanjay Gidoomal is the Board Chairman of Watu Credit. He was previously Managing Director at GIRO Commercial Bank Ltd until February 2017. He is currently a Director of Car & General (Kenya) Limited, Car & General (Tanzania) Limited and Car & General (Uganda) Limited. He is also the Chairman of Watu Kenya and Watu Holdings.

Mr. Dan Karuga
The Board of Directors of Car & General (Kenya) plc is pleased
to inform you of the appointment of Mr Dan Karuga as
Independent Non-Executive directors of the Company with
effect from 9 December 2025
Mr. Daniel Karuga is a senior corporate executive with nearly
20 years of experience leading and transforming diverse
organizations in the technology, manufacturing, and financial
services sectors.
Currently, he is Africaโs Operating Lead for SC Ventures, the
fintech, investment, and ventures arm of Standard Chartered
Bank Group. Prior to his current role, Daniel was East Africa
Managing Director for Branch International, where he
orchestrated the companyโs transition from a pure digital
lender to a deposit-taking institution through the acquisition
of Century Microfinance Bank, Kenyaโs first acquisition of
a bank by a fintech company.
Before Branch International, Daniel spent a decade at PwC,
advising clients in Africa and the USA on a range of tax and
business issues, including mergers & acquisitions and
corporate structuring.
He holds an MBA from University of California Berkeley and
a Bachelor of Arts degree from Kenyatta University. He is also
a Certified Executive Coach (The Academy of Executive
Coaching, UK), Certified Director (Centre for Corporate
Governance, Kenya), and Certified Human-Centred Design
Practitioner (Luma Institute, USA).

The Chairman and Directors of Car & General (Kenya) plc are
delighted to welcome Mr Dan Karuga to the Board.

Mrs. Esther Koimett
Mrs. Esther Koimett is one of Kenyaโs most seasoned and
distinguished public-servants with over 35-years track-record
spanning across investment promotion, banking, privatisation,
public enterprise reform and public policy.
She is recognized as a leading figure in both public and private
sectors, having led, structured, and executed several high profile
and strategic transactions, projects, and initiatives on behalf of
the Government of the Republic of Kenya, including the KenGen
and Safaricom IPOs.
Esther has diligently served at the highest levels of leadership
within the Government of Kenya, notably, having held the following
positions: Principal Secretary โ State Department of Broadcasting
and Telecommunications; Principal secretary โ State Departments
of Transport; Investment Secretary and Director General โ Public
Investments and Portfolio Management at the National Treasury;
Permanent Secretary โ Ministry of Tourism & Information; and
Managing Director and CEO โ Kenya Post Office Savings Bank.
Esther has extensive Board experience and currently chairs the
Boards of M-pesa Holdings Company Ltd and AAR Insurance Kenya
Ltd. She has previously served on several Boards including Safaricom
PLC, Nairobi Securities Exchange, Kenya Commercial Bank and Kenya
Ports Authority, among others.
Esther holds a Bachelor of Commerce and an MBA from the
University of Nairobi and an Advanced Management Programme
(AMP) Certificate from Strathmore University. She is a member
of the Institute of Investment and Financial Analysts, Kenya.
