| | Car & General headquarters are situated in Nairobi’s Industrial Area, New Cargen House, Lusaka Road (Kenyan branches in Mombasa, Kisumu and Nakuru) with subsidiaries in Uganda (Kampala) with a branch in Mbarara, Tanzania (Dar-es-Salaam) with a branch in Arusha. In a bid to be the leading company in East Africa in power generation, automotive and engine related products, Car & General (established in Nakuru, Kenya in 1936) has maintained a strong presence in East Africa since the mid 60’s when branch offices in Kampala and Dar-es-Salaam were turned into fully-fledged subsidiaries. The subsidiaries deal in all products of the Car & General group. | | | | | | In Nairobi, the company operates MRC – Maintenance Repair Centre, a one-stop facility for reconditioning and remanufacturing mechanical components which has a wide variety of specialized welding and machining processes. As part of Tanzania’s operation, Car & General operates Kibo Poultry Products Limited, one of the oldest chicken broiler farms on the African continent, situated at Moshi. There is also a branch at Arusha. Car & General is in Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu and Nakuru in Kenya, Dar-es-Salaam and Arusha in Tanzania and Kampala and Mbarara in Uganda. Car & General is the master distributor for Cummins (all product lines from gensets to engines, parts and filters) in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti, Somalia and Seychelles and has representation in all countries except Somalia. |
